Fifteen years ago, from the basement of the Craig home in Northern Colorado, we set out on a mission to make the world a safer place for anyone struggling with food allergies and dietary restrictions. What started as a vision with humble roots on Feb. 6, 2010, has since grown into an industry-leading movement, shaping how food service, manufacturing, and education approach allergen safety. As we celebrate this incredible milestone for our organization, we’re not only reflecting on how far we’ve come over the past 15 years, but also eagerly looking ahead with excitement for what’s next.

Huge Milestones in Training, Certification, and Industry Leadership

It’s incredible to look back and see how far we have come, especially when it comes to training, certification, and industry leadership. Since 2010, we’ve trained more than 100,000 people around the world, empowering them with the knowledge and confidence to serve guests safely. Our training is now used in over 400 colleges and universities across the U.S., and we’ve completed nearly 200 AllerCheck™ certifications, helping businesses uphold the highest standards in food safety. Through our proprietary database, we’ve cataloged an astonishing 377,606 ingredients, 109,196 recipes, and over 500 kitchens, providing critical insights for those managing food allergies.

These aren’t just milestones, these are testaments to the loyalty and trust of our partners, many of whom continue to support us today.

We’re proud to have created AllerTrain®, the nation’s first and leading ANAB-accredited food allergy and gluten-free training program. We also developed Certified Free From™, a groundbreaking third-party certification that verifies allergen-free claims, giving consumers greater confidence in the products they choose.

15 Years of Advocacy and Industry Impact

For nearly a decade, we’ve honored food allergy champions through the National Food Allergy Awards and have worked alongside industry leaders to establish the Food Allergy Symposium for Industry (FASI), an event now in its sixth year. Our work has taken us across the globe as we conducted international training and third-party audits from Australia to Kuwait and beyond.

We’ve been at the forefront of menu labeling initiatives, guiding restaurants through countless webinars, coaching sessions, FDA allergen changes, and menu reviews. In the packaged goods industry, we’ve helped to ensure products display Certified Free From™ seals, helping consumers make informed choices.

Beyond training and certification, we’ve contributed to the advancement of food allergy solutions through speaking engagements, industry events, and key appointments to influential boards. And because of our combined efforts, we were given the ability to lead two critical Food Code changes in 2018 and 2022, reinforcing the importance of food allergy safety in regulatory standards.

A Heartfelt Thank You from our CEO

“From the very beginning, our goal has been to provide the best products and services while continuing to innovate, advocate, and grow. Together, we’ve accomplished so much, and I couldn’t be more grateful. On a personal note, many of you have followed my medical journey over the years, and I am both personally and professionally incredibly grateful for your trust, loyalty and partnership over the years.

‘In 2020, when the nation faced the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was because of your trust and loyalty that we pushed through and emerged stronger than ever. I am both personally and professionally thankful for every customer, partner, and advocate who has been part of this journey. Here’s to many more years of making a difference—together.” – Betsy Craig, CEO of MenuTrinfo
