HUNTINGDON, PA.—AssureTech and MenuTrinfo® have announced a new partnership to help colleges and universities become allergy-friendly environments. Each company will offer their respective services available for campus-wide deployment. College students will receive the premium EpiCenter App memberships while also accessing MenuTrinfo®‘s AllerTrain™ course.
Food allergies are prevalent among the college-aged and college-bound generations. About one in every thirteen students suffers from a life-threatening food allergy, according to FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education). AssureTech and MenuTrinfo are two companies that are working to make managing food allergies easier through preventative measures, emergency training and response resources.
MenuTrinfo®, based in Fort Collins, CO, helps colleges create allergen-friendly and gluten-free environments and prepare foods safely. Through their company Kitchens with Confidence™ they audit commercial kitchens and major universities across the nation to ensure their products and foods are truly “Certified Free From™” the allergens they claim to avoid. Through their food allergy training company AllerTrain™, they have trained over 100,000 people across the United States. The courses offered are ANSI accredited and meet state specific training mandates. MenuTrinfo® will make its course available through the student version of the EpiCenter App so students with food allergies can offer the course to roommates and others.
I am personally trilled that smart minds like Joey’s and a great company like AssureTech is joining forces to make MenuTrinfo’s offering of services even stronger. Those campuses that take advantage of this app will be able to offer their students incredible benefits that make dining safer and more comfortable for students dining with food allergies.

AssureTech, of Huntingdon, PA, is a technology startup that debuted its new software, the EpiCenter App, for food allergy sufferers this spring. The EpiCenter App includes emergency features like automatically calling 911, alerting emergency contacts, locating the nearest hospital(s) and displaying critical information that can be translated in 47 languages through a partnership with allergy translation company, Equal Eats. The App also includes news updates on FDA recalls and connects users with allergy-friendly food.
Students at participating universities will have access to all paid functionality in the EpiCenter App, like additional emergency contacts and exclusive discounts on medical alert gear and safe-to-eat food, as well as access to the AllerTrain™ Course.
Both companies are currently looking for campuses interested in becoming beta sites. Beta sites will receive a 50% discount on the registration fee and have a chance at being among the first to offer these services to their students.
Anyone interested in becoming a beta site, or that would like to refer their college, should contact info@menutrinfo.com for more information.
